Fabio Returns to DC; New Eats to Nats Stadium

James Beard award-winner Fabio Trabocchi’s eagerly anticipated Penn Quarter Italian restaurant, Fiola, is set to open on Friday, April 8 at 601 Pennsylvania Ave., NW. The former Maestro standout’s approachable menu will showcase regional and contemporary Italian cooking in a casually elegant surrounding, including appetizers and snacks at the bar, half- and full-portion pastas, and entrees under $30. Welcome back to DC, Fabio!

New Eating Options at Nats Stadium
Über NYC-restaurateur Danny Meyer and his Union Square Hospitality Group announced plans to open four new eating concepts at Nationals Stadium this June. Headlining the new offerings is Shake Shack, Meyer’s increasingly popular burger and shake outpost, which will also be opening in the former Fuddruckers site in the Golden Triangle. The three other ballpark eateries include Blue Smoke, a sibling to his barbecue joint in New York; Box Frites, featuring Belgian fries; and El Verano Taqueria, a Mexican concept. Union Square Hospitality Group operates some of New York’s most beloved restaurants, including Eleven Madison Park, Gramercy Tavern, Maialino, The Modern and Union Square Cafe.
