

For the fourth consecutive year, DC Chefs José Andrés and Johnny Monis have been named finalists for The James Beard Foundation Awards. Andrés, owner of Café Atlántico, Jaleo, Oyamel and Zaytinya, is one of five finalists for Outstanding Chef (in the country) for his ground-breaking concept, Minibar by José Andrés. Monis, a three-time finalist for Rising Star Chef of the Year at Komi, will compete against Cathal Armstrong (Restaurant Eve) and Peter Pastan (Obelisk) for Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic region.
