The Washington Business Journal reports that Asian-fusion restaurant TenPenh will close its doors on June 30. According to a statement from Passion Food Hospitality, the restaurant wasn’t able to come to an agreement with its landlord over a lease renewal. “Although much discussion is whirling around about a possible relocation, we would like to simply focus our energy and time on our independent ongoing ventures and the two new independent endeavors poised to open on Washington Circle this August,” the statement reads. Burger, Tap & Shake and District Commons are the company’s two planned restaurants. Read the full press release here.
For 11 years, TenPenh has called 1001 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, its home. Passion Food also operates such restaurants as Acadiana, Ceiba, DC Coast and Passion Fish.
